The Green Room (2024)

The Green Room draws from surf imagery to reflect on the fusion between the human being and nature.

In surfing terminology, the expression refers to the inner space of the wave —a suspended moment between motion and stillness, between risk and contemplation.

In this work, Alex R. Plaza turns that metaphor into a symbolic scene where architecture and landscape merge. The wave becomes a living room, a transient refuge where vision dissolves into the environment and the body reaches harmony with the natural flow.

Through his cubist and neo-figurative language, the artist builds a dialogue between geometry and fluidity, between control and surrender, evoking the fleeting sense of fulfillment that arises when the human being aligns with the world’s vital energy.
