Born in Madrid in 1992, Plaza is a Spanish-Australian visual artist currently based between Sydney, Madrid, and Andalusia. He initially trained as an architect at the University of Granada, a discipline that deeply informs his artistic practice. However, he ultimately left the profession to fully embrace painting, a decision driven by deep conviction and an urgent need for genuine creative freedom. He describes this background as foundational, noting that architecture taught him "to tame chaos and turn it into visual language".

Plaza’s work is defined by a unique fusion of modern cubism, surrealism, and neo-figuration. His compositions are symbolic battlegrounds where body and consciousness, identity and appearance, coexist in constant tension. Through a vocabulary of fragmented human figures, masks, hands, and eyes, he explores themes of control, desire, and authenticity. In his work, geometry acts as containment, while the human gesture serves as an act of resistance. His painting lives in the dialogue between that rigid structure and raw emotion.
