The Birth of Venus (2024)
The Birth of Venus stems from a reflection on the relationship between body and soul —between the tangible we inhabit and the intangible that inhabits us.
Plaza conceives the body as a suit that covers a deeper entity, a consciousness seeking to manifest itself through matter.
The composition presents a female figure that recalls the ancient “Venus of Willendorf,” a symbol of fertility and origin, reinterpreted through a cubist and contemporary language.
The body unfolds in planes and fragments that gradually dissolve from the recognizable to the essential.
On the opposite side, an orange amalgam of pure forms and blurred faces represents the soul at the moment of incarnation —the instant it enters its new suit.
With this work, Plaza inaugurates the universe of Inhabit: an inquiry into inner identity, where the body ceases to be a boundary and becomes a spiritual territory.
