TRIPTYCH
The Weight of the Gaze
This triptych delves into the tension between body and consciousness, into the on-going struggle against distorted self-perception. Three female figures rise upon ambiguous podiums —at once solid and fluid— their curvilinear torsos and elongated geometric necks crowned by abstract masses of dark paint in which only a pair of absorbed, vigilant eyes emerge. Each piece embodies a different facet of this same conflict: the fragmentation of identity, the instability of introspection, and the search for resolution. The recurring presence of small vermilion spheres introduces symbolic tension and connects this body of work to other visual languages within the artist's practice, functioning as a conceptual thread across series. Together, the triptych unfolds a narrative of introspection where the viewer confronts the harshness of self-criticism and the fragility of inhabiting both a body and a mind subjected to inner judgment.
